Brazil have finished 4th placing in the 2014 FIFA world cup - TopicsExpress

Brazil have finished 4th placing in the 2014 FIFA world cup following their defeat 0 - 3 this morning (Oceania time). Surely their loss has left some broken hearts among local fans and supporters of Brazil in Vanuatu... and surely elsewhere among football loving nations, societies and families. The game has impacted so tremendously on the lives of so many people across all sectors of life. For good sporting followers, it has been another wonderful period of international football entertainment week organised by FIFA in collaboration with Brazil Football. As the world looks forward to seeing the winners of the world cup in tomorrows grand final encounter between two of the worlds traditional football giants, Germany and Argentina, there is no question that the scouts have been out and have earmarked or seal contracts that more news on their work will be hitting the front pages of sporting newspapers in the coming weeks. For Vanuatu, we hope that the tremendous passion of the game that continue to snowball in our country will prompt our governments and all stakeholders to put their hands and resources together in developing infrastructures to match the interests. The current sitting 52 members of parliament include several national reps, if not most of them have played football and continue to follow Vanuatu football. Unfortunately we are still waiting to see them use their parliamentary powers and privileges to supporting football and sporting infrastructure development in Vanuatu. The 2014 FIFA world cup comes to its close on Monday (local time) but it would be interesting to take stock of the type of developments that have the great game has triggered in our country.
