Breaking Bad: final thoughts. When I first started watching the - TopicsExpress

Breaking Bad: final thoughts. When I first started watching the show, I leaned over to my wife and said: These two are idiots, they just dont realize it. As the show progressed, I maintained that thought to the end, but other thoughts connected with it. Like --- Every person in this story is expendable... there wont be a single survivor. Like --- These two kill every dealer they get involved with. Like --- Pride comes before destruction. Like --- there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end only leads to death. All these things piled up one atop the other, but there really seemed to be a missing link to connect all the dots. I didnt find it until this last season. In coming down to the final season, I started to see the honest reality of 1 Corinthians 15:33. We preach it... but rarely do we connect it with honest reality. Here.... Do not be misled; Bad company corrupts good character.... becomes something more than a pithy platitude --- it becomes cold hard reality that leads to the death of all involved. Bad Company --- Evil companions --- being in the company of the wicked ---- leads on a downward spiral that ends in justifying everything we do, and lying to everyone around us. From the first episode, all the way through, I thought about how driving this one verse really was. And in the end... Walter White justified everything in the conviction that he was Doing it for his family... when in truth, he did it because doing evil appealed to him. And he lost everything because of it. An interesting morality tale, and I am glad that Hollow-wood didnt shoot for a happy ending on this one. For once ...... the bad guy gained nothing and lost everything... but the only honestly sad thing is.... not one person watching the show.... will ever realize that they are just as equally evil / bad / corrupt before God, and just as pathetic in their justifications of their ways. Bad company corrupts good morals. Yup.
