Breaking news Bangladeshi Islamic terrorists belonging to CHT-based jihadist organizations such as Parbatya Bangali Parishad, Sama Adhikar Andolan, Parbatya Bangali Chhatra Parishad attacked members of the CHT International Commission visiting CHT today (July 5) at Rangamati. 10 persons, including the Co-Chair of the Commission, were injured in the attack. ------------------------------------ CHT in Turmoil, Article 144 imposed 4 July 2014, Chittagong Hill Tract-- Allegedly advised and encouraged by a vested section of the Government of Bangladesh and its army, two jihadist organizations -- Parbatya Bangali Parishad and Sama Adhikar Andolan -- and their front organizations have called a two-day strike and road blockade in the entire Chittagong Hill Tracts on July 4 and 5, 2014 to oppose the visit of the International Commission on Chittagong Hill Tracts, popularly CHT Commission, to the region. The Commission is on a visit to CHT from July 2 to 8, 2014. It will, among other works on agenda, discuss the CHT situation with local political leaders and officials and visit Babuchara (the place where Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladeshi Muslim settlers attacked indigenous people opposing the planned establishment of a BGB regional HQ and land acquisition for it there in last month) and Todekmara Kizing (the place where BGB forced minority Buddhist devotees to stop their planned construction of a 10 feet high Buddha statue in last May this year). Defying the strike and road blockade thousands of indigenous people gathered at various places of CHT and formed human chains to demonstrate their discontent with the Bangladesh Government over the non-implementation of the 1997 CHT Accord and continued human rights violations by Bangladeshi security forces and Muslim settlers in the region on the occasion of the Commissions visit. The administration invoked article 144 in Khagrachari Hill District to disarray and frustrate indigenous demonstrators. Parbatya Bangali Parishad and Sama Adhikar Andolan are two CHT-based jihadist organizations of Bangladeshi Muslim settlers responsible for several genocides and hundreds of abduction and rape cases and all other terrorist activities against the minority Buddhists, Hindus and Christians in CHT. It may be mentioned in this context that these jihadist organizations often accuse the Commission and other Western human rights organizations of conspiring against Bangladesh to make an independent Christian State with CHT. They do so apparently to undermine and discredit the efforts of these human rights organizations for promotion and protection of human rights in the region on one hand, and to justify their jihad against the minority Buddhists, Hindus and Christians on the other.
