Breaking news: Lagos NUJ endorses SK. SK decided to do something DIFFERENT on Saturday. SK decided to spend the day with the Nigerian Union of Journalists at their elective congress which holds every 3years. It was a truly fantastic day. The atmosphere was very surreal one would not believe this was an election...there was food, drinks, and a even Seun Olotas band was there serenading the audience with high-life tunes from way back.. The atmosphere was pleasant as people made merry even while the elections were on going. The leadership was returned unopposed apart from one position that was contested quite eagerly between staff of the same institution (LTV and Eko FM). It was fun being in the company of an amazing bunch of people...with a high sense of humour. The Chairman and the execs were pleasantly surprised and expressed gratitude for the unusual gesture from the young aspirant. SK has a real love for journalism inspired by his relationship with his mentor High Chief Raymond Dokpesi so it was symbolic that the NUJ building in Lagos was named after Late Ladi Lawal former DAAR Communications plc GMD whom SK remembers fondly and often recalls the way Oga Ladi always supported him with so much zeal in his endeavours.
