Breaking news: Ron Paul wouldn’t get rid of all of the intelligence gathering done by government agencies, he would just make it more “transparent.” Still, spying is spying, Paul. Does this refute his entire argument on government? No. But it does mean Paul isn’t the libertarian guy other libertarians say he is – you know, the guy who wouldn’t do what “Obama has done.” In the video, Ron Paul justifies his intelligence gathering by saying that his way would be done through the law. Last I checked, a law is a law unless it’s repealed because it was found to be unconstitutional – it doesn’t matter what Paul thinks is unconstitutional, it matters what the courts think is unconstitutional. If the agencies under Obama are doing something that isn’t deemed unconstitutional, then he’s not breaking any laws. Therefore, what the government does wouldn’t be against the law. What he’s trying to do is make a distinction between him and the policy of Obama that just isn’t different – he would still be doing the same thing government agencies under Obama have done, but he’s saying that it’s different for him. youtube/watch?v=B1fo7kXwNzY
