BreakingNews: 2015: JEG Begins Crucifixion! #EFCC Probes Kwankwanso, Lamido# The EFCC has commenced investigation into the tenure of the incumbent governor of Kano state Alhaji Musa Kwankwaso when he was Minister of Defence during the administration of former president Obasanjo and his Jigawa state counterpart Alhaji Sule Lamido who served as minister of Foreign Affairs in the same regime over allegations of corruption and contract inflation. A highly placed source at the commission disclosed that the operatives of the EFCC are currently studying the files and series of petitions written against the two public office holders before appropriate actions will be taken. According to the source, the operatives are quietly examining the allegations since governor Kwankwaso and his Jigawa state counterpart are currently enjoying immunity as serving governors. But once they are out office and cease to enjoy immunity they will be called upon to answer to the allegations. The top officer added that investigation started long before Lamido and Kwankwaso became governors although the governor of Kano state was a governor between 1999 to 2003 before he lost his re-election bid to Ibrahim Shekauru and subsequently made the minister of Defense during the administration of former president Obasanjo in 2003. He said that a team of crack investigators are currently working on the documents that allegedly contains a series of the petitions and allegations. It was further learnt that permanent secretaries, Directors and contractors who worked with Lamido and Kwankwaso as Foreign affairs and Defence Ministers respectively will also be called for interrogation
