Breath Foundation provides assistance to the family of victims of the Ukraine plane crash The Breath Foundation has been active in eastern Ukraine for years. With our projects in the region of Donetsk we try to bring structure in the lives of street children. A task that given recent developments has become considerably more difficult. The plane crash with flight MH17 from Malaysian Airlines also deeply touched the management and employees of Foundation Breath in the Netherlands and Ukraine. This is a terrible tragedy. The treatment of victims in the first two days and the way aid workers and experts have been denied access to the site of the disaster defies all imagination. The majority of the population of Ukraine despises this approach it as well. They feel intense sadness and compassion together with a great sense of powerlessness and even shame about what happened in their country. The Breath Foundation together with her employees in Kharkiv came into action to support the families of the victims. Together with the Ukrainians we formed a team of volunteers that is ready, now or in the future; once the situation has improved, to support the families of the victims who wish to visit the site of the disaster. The Breath Foundation will call for help in finding transportation and hotel accommodation. We know better than anyone else how difficult a language barrier can be so we also offer our support in this matter. There is also an English speaking psychologist available. The Breath Foundation hopes to be able to help the relatives of the victims of the plane crash with their years of experience in the Eastern region of Ukraine.
