July 22, 2013 Mark 16:15-18 (KJV) 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. We all see things, products, advertised that they will “guarantee” that their product will perform as they say it will. Sometimes their guarantee is good, they will stand behind their product, and sometimes it is not, they refuse to do anything about it if their product does not perform as advertised. This is man’s guarantee. In our passage of scripture that we have today, God is “guaranteeing” that when we do our part that He will back up our words and actions for us. An example: If we as believer’s and by the authority of Jesus, lay hands on the sick, He guarantees that they WILL recover. He did not say anything about praying or calling together a group to pray and fast to make this happen. God said this through Jesus and Mark was guided by the Holy Spirit to write it down for us so that we would be able to go forth and do what it says and have the confidence, never doubt, that He will back up this guarantee. It is better than any guarantee we as Christians have ever seen or heard, He gave His Only Son on the cross for this to work.
