Brendan Tevlin Friends, As most of you are aware, on June 25th of this year, the World lost a very special person. Brendan Patrick Tevlin, 19, was murdered at about 11:45pm on his way home. He was at his buddies house playing video games and watching the College World Series. His last text was to his mom letting her know that he was on his way home. Unfortunately, he never made it. He was murdered by a radical muslim, Ali Muhammed Brown, while stopped at a traffic light in West Orange, NJ. This was……... a senseless murder. Brendan played lacrosse, the bagpipes, and loved surfing. He was also an honor roll student. He truly was, your All American Kid. He had just finished his freshman year at the University of Richmond, and was home on summer break. His motto…….. Good Vibes and Easy Living. Since the murder, his friends and family have been there for each other. We’ve grieved, we’ve told stories, we’ve cried, but through it all…..we’ve been there for each other. We did not riot in the streets. We did not torch down buildings. We did no harm to others. We did not make this political theatre. We held a benefit lacrosse game. We held a concert. Brendan’s parents, Michael and Allison, have truly been an inspiration. They have said that Brendan actually saved a life, as the terrorist who murdered him that night, was going to murder someone either way……unfortunately…. it happened to be Brendan who was stopped at that traffic light. At the concert this past Sunday night, 3 bands played. BUT, the girl who stole the show was Brendan’s cousin, Bren Callahan. Bren sang a song in between the bands’ sets, that she wrote for Brendan after his death called, “Brendans Song”. Please click on the link below to view it. I urge you to listen to the lyrics very carefully. It’s about 6 minutes long. If you don’t have the time to watch it now, please save it, and watch it when you have the time to REALLY watch it and listen. https://youtube/watch?v=JMBdA84fmGw https://youtube/watch?v=h37-ail1dRY All of the proceeds that are being raised are going towards his Memorial Fund, so that we can name the Athletic Field that he played lacrosse on at Seton Hall Prep in NJ after him. His parents feel that is the most appropriate Memorial we can create for Brendan. Before he died, his last wish….if you will….was for he and his friends to play pick up lacrosse games there every Wednesday last summer. If you know me, then you know that I rarely ask this of anyone, but if you feel the urge, please click on the link below to make a donation. Whether it be $10, $50, $100, or whatever amount you feel is worthy…….Every little bit helps and goes towards an unbelievable cause. shp.org/bpt
