Brethren, Soon after Ata Ikiddehs (SA to Gov. Akpabio on project monitoring) defense of the Governor over the allegation of marginalization of Oro by MP Uwak, another apologist of the administration, Aniakan Umana (Comm. for Info) has again stepped out in defense of their principal. One thing is clear judging from the spirited attempts by principal actors of the administration to defend the government. MP Uwaks allegation has rattled the government. An Islamic cleric, Uthman Dan Fodio wrote Conscience is an open wound, only the truth can heal. If Akpabios conscience excuses him of the allegation of prejudice and marginalization of Oro, let him go to sleep and cease to worry about the concerns of Oro as expressed by MP Uwak and advice his men to desist from these spurious rebuttals. If however, he is convicted by his conscience, it is only honourable that he admits his guilt and seek a truce with Oro. It is never too late to change.I get angry at the highly contentious and inequitable data repeated presented in support of government developmental projects in Oro in comparison with other areas. In terms of road, do they consider the design, quality and mileage of the roads? When government awards a road contract in Ikot Ekpene to Julius Berger and award a similar road contract in Oro to a crony; what do you expect? The Commissioner claims that 483 inter-ministerial projects have been completed in Oro and 157 are still ongoing, all valued at 2billion Naira. This add up 640 projects. The average cost of each project in the 5 LGAs of Oro will be something in the region of N3,125,000 (Three Million,One Hundred and Twenty Five Naira)only. How many Oro business men/women benefited from this empowerment as alleged by the commissioner. Is this figure comparable with what is obtained in other LGAs?. Are the number of projects executed in Oro nation with 5 LGAs comparable with the number of projects in certain LGAs of the state? Please see the archive of ONG for the statistic on this subject posted by Dr. Kitefre Oboho of MF-LOAN. Comm. Aniekan Umana should cease to insult our intelligence. It is unthinkable that of ALL the resources taken from our land and waters in the last 7 1/2 years only 2billion Naira has been reinvested in infrastructure in the 5 LGAs of Oro. The actors of Uncommon Transformation should cease from being rhetorical and desist from playing politics with the development of Oro nation. They should admit and face the truth which is the unjustifiable, inequitable and lopsided distribution of wealth, resources and positions in Akwa Ibom state. Oro deserves and demands fair-play in project Akwa Ibom. There can be no peace without justice. Ulo Utan Enteghe
