Brgy. San Jose, Palo, Leyte -- Rixie Nicole, a 6th grade student at San Jose Elementary School, shares why she and her classmates are excited to occupy the new classrooms that were built for them through the support of the American People. This afternoon, USAID Chief Human Capital Officer Elizabeth B. Kolmstetter will formally turn over two school buildings with eight fully furnished classrooms at San Jose Elementary School. The buildings, which are designed to withstand strong typhoon winds and earthquakes of up to magnitude 8.5, are expected to help restore access to education for more than 200 students, and to increase the climate-resilience of residents in this typhoon-hit barangay.
