Brief on the President, Pentecotsal Fellowship of Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Felix Ilaweagbon Omobude He was born on 14th March, 1946 in Evbuobanosa (formerly now known as Owa) in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State to Mr. Omokha Omobude and Deaconess Akpitanyi Omobude (nee Irabor). He was the third child in a family of fourteen, growing up in humble circumstances, which limited his opportunity to obtain education in his early days. He however overcame all the odds in pursuit of his desire for education. He attended St. Michael’s Primary School, Evbuobanosa and proceeded to St. Patrick’s Secondary Model School, Benin City for secondary education. He attended Electro Technical College, Asaba, and finished at Modern Trade Centre, Efurrun, Warri with the City & Guilds of London Full Technical Certificate. He studied at London School of Carriers for C.E.I. Part One exam before answering the call into the ministry. Dr Omobude received theological training from All Nations for Christ Bible Institute, Christ for the Nations Institute, Dallas Texas, USA and San Antonio Theological College. He obtained the Certificate in Theology from Christ for the Nations Institute in 1981 and PhD (D.Min) from the same institution in 1984. He was honoured in 1986 with an honorary Doctorate degree in Divinity by the San Antonio Theological Ministry, USA in recognition of outstanding integrity and character. Dr Omobude has been an active minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ for over forty years. His service started at the Church of God Mission International, where he was on the Pastoral team of the church under the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa. The Gospel Light International Ministries, which he leads, is highly regarded for its work in spreading the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ and working to ensure the restoration of the total person – physically, socially and through its many humanitarian outreaches. He founded Life Lift International, as an answer to a heavenly demand to better the lot of the less privileged, with focus on providing succour to the impoverished and people adversely impacted by natural or man-made disasters. His passion for education and assisting others in their educational pursuits not only comes from his own personal experience, but a commitment in raising a new generation of leaders who are educationally and spiritually sound. To this end, he founded the Covenant Christian Academy (Nursery, Primary and Secondary) in February 1994 and the GLIM Bible College in April, 1995. He has also intervened in providing the much-needed high-level technological manpower to aid in the development of Nigeria by setting up the Lighthouse Polytechnic, which has since received the full approval of the Federal Government. Dr Omobude started his professional life in the public service, meritoriously discharging his duties with the Bendel Civil Service Commission, where he rose to the position of Higher Technical Officer (Electrical) before resigning his appointment to go into full time ministry. He was the first State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bendel State and has served as the First National Vice President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, South-south zone, as well as Member, National Advisory Council of PFN. He is also the National Representative (Nigeria) for ICARE Inc. Yuma, Arizona, USA and Member, Board of Elders, Faith Community Churches International, Tucson, Arizona, USA. His teachings are widely available locally and internationally on local and cable TV stations. Dr Felix Omobude has authored over 10 books, among which are – You are His Choice; Flaming Fire; The Power of an Endless Life; and Maximising Opportunities and Managing Prosperity. His biography titled “Like a Gentle Flame” written by Igbinewedo Albert Igbinedion was published in 2006. An acclaimed man of integrity, Dr Omobude is renowned for his humility, hardwork and a commitment to the tenets of the Holy Bible in every area of life. He is married to a gospel singer and preacher, Pastor Theodora Abiola Omobude and they are blessed with two children – Ebenezer and Sarah Omobude.
