Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday demanded trial and punishment of those who killed journalists during the tenure of previous BNP-Jamaat alliance government. Journalists Manik Saha, Humayun Kabir Balu and Dipankar Chakrabarty were killed during the BNP-Jamaat regime, he said, adding that the nation wants to see the trial of their killers. Prof Arefin Siddique spoke as the chief guest at the biennial conference of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) at the National Press Club in the city. BFUJ President Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury presided over the meeting.
