Bring the ohana (means “family,” i.e., no one left behind) and celebrate this big 11th Annual Polynesian Festival on the lagoon in Leo Ryan Park. FREE admission! Saturday 5/3/14, 10 am – 5 pm. It’s both entertaining and educational. Cultural performances from award-winning professional Polynesian Dance companies from throughout the Bay Area will be featured. You’ll see Hawaiian hula dancers, Samoan sivas, Tongan kailao and the rhythmic Tahitian and Cook Islands drum dances. There will also be food/arts/crafts booths and outrigger canoe rides provided by Hookahi Puuwai Canoe Club...;o) E komo mai! (welcome!)
