Britain good market for Assamese apparel: Designer NEW DELHI, Sep 26 :Assamese designer Dhiraj Deka,who recently showcased hiscreations at the Fashion Finest off-schedule show for the LondonFashion Week, says that Britain isa potential market for clothesinspired by Assamese traditionsand that he is trying to tap this. Deka, who set up his Bibhusaadesigner store in Guwahati underthe Niru Garments brand name in2009, has a passion for silk fabricsincluding muga-gisha, pat, tussarand eri and he uses moderntechnology to spin out royal yetmodern outfits with these fabrics. "Yes, Britain is a good market andI have plans to tie up with buyersin London. It is under process.Hopefully, it will materialise nextyear," Deka told IANS in an emailinterview. The designer, who displayed hiswork at shows in the capital, andalso in Guwahati, Shillong, Chennai,Durban and Bangkok, receivedgood response from these places.
