British comedy about Andy and Lance - two detectorists of a metal detectorists club in rural England. In a bid to impress their fellow club members and prove everyone in their personal lives wrong by finding an archaelogical wonder (some ancient burial site), they seek permission to survey a hitherto unsurveyed land of an old man, who is rumored to have killed his own wife (and buried her somewhere in that property). Luckily they are given permission but soon things turn sour when a rival group of detectorists turn up. Things started happening as more and more people start taking interest in their survey. More of dramedy in my opinion. Not a laugh-a-minute American stuff. A few chuckles here and there, but great characters and a beautiful story. Excellent acting from all the cast members especially the two leads Mackenzie Crook (The Office, Pirates of the Caribbean and Game of Thrones), who wrote and directed the series and Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), The Hunger Games (2012) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier).
