Bro. Chris Onwuka-George. As I read your post that was - TopicsExpress

Bro. Chris Onwuka-George. As I read your post that was published earlier on my FB group and seems to have been deleted now, I realize that you have touched a very sensitive point, because the majority of the teachings heard among the Christian assemblies about Holiness and Sanctification speak of a progressive Holiness. But the truth is quite more different. Hebrews 10:10 says that those who are called, were made Holy once for all. There is all the difference. Because as soon as the blood of Jesus gives us the same Holiness which was imparted to Jesus, being conformed to his nature, (into his likeness) becoming like him in the Mind of God (our Heavenly Father), we should understand that this Holiness which is given to us through Faith is the foundation on which we build, not the goal. God will never accept any other than his own Holiness, because only God is Holy. God said that : You shall be Holy, because I am Holy (1 Peter 1:16) And to underline this statement from God, I remind you that Jesus also said in Matthew 5:48 : Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (As God is perfect : my emphasis) Jesus never said : Well, work out to be perfect, and probably at the very end of your life, you will get close to the goal of becoming perfect... Obviously, Jesus didnt mean that at all. He rather said Be Perfect, (as much) as your Heavenly Father is Perfect. Be Holy because your Heavenly Father is Holy, and by my blood shed for you, this is possible if you have faith in my Heavenly Fathers New Covenant He makes with His people. If Jesus would have quoted 1 Peter 1:16 along with Hebrews 10:10 and Matthew 5:48, the expression once for all from Hebrews 10;10 would have taken another sense... such as : Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is Perfect, because you have been made Holy and Perfect once for all by my blood shed for you. And if Jesus would have quoted Hebrews 2:11 ( I use that as a figure of speech) he would have said I (Jesus) and the ones I make Holy by my blood shed at the cross, have the same Father. That is why I (Jesus) am not ashamed to call them my brothers and sisters because they are made equal to me in the mind of my Heavenly Father. Be blessed
