Broadband to reach 650 million households in 2013: Broadband penetration will exceed 650 million households across the globe, with nearly 430 million to have a data network this year. The prediction is that by 2017, broadband service providers worldwide will deploy 120 million residential gateways and routers, rising 60 percent from 75 million in 2012. Also,71% of smartphone owners have at least one paid application installed on their phones while tablet owners watch around six hours of video on the device per week.
