Brock Blair 12 hours ago To the prayer warriors for our team, Today we continued to see the power in the name of Jesus. In the early hours while we were still sleeping we were all woken up to the sound and sights of the brightest and loudest lightning and thunder any of us have ever seen and heard. We witnessed what God can do with ease. With each crack of the sky, we prayed for God to continue to let us marvel in His power. We started our daily early and immediately left for Panay Island to work on the Ati school. We plastered an entire wall, leveled many feet of ground, and taught in the school of over 40 children. Our hearts felt the warmth of children who do not frequently see white Americans. For some of these children, they do not see love often and it is our job to show them the love of Christ in all things we do. We were blessed to feed them their lunches and it was during the lunch that some of us returning members of the team were able to connect with familiar faces. Last year while here I connected with the smile and innocent beautiful laughter of a 12-year-old girl named Gemima. I said “hey Gemima!” and she smiled her trademark amazing smile. We talk for some time about how God provided the money for when she broke her femur last year and how she has no limp whatsoever. She sat at my side with her hand on my leg and her friend on my lap as we just talked as friends. She calls me “caladlawan” which means “funny/laughing.” It was great to see a girl still joyful as ever before and surviving the tough environment she is in. When we left she said, “goodbye B-rock. Next time. I miss you,” and then gave me a kiss on the cheek. We see such a large amount of children here that we want to give them all of our love and yet she was the one that showed me her love. I will never forget the genuine kindness from my friend Gemima. Our team then went to a river where we swam for some time and then off to two different Ati feeding sites (we did 3 total today) where we were able to preach the Gospel. Today we all witnessed our pastor crawl on the ground with a lion mask on his face literally scare children to tears haha! Bob was amazing today with the kids and he truly did a great job acting as one of the lions for the story of Daniel in the lion’s den. Back here at the Vista house we had dinner and a brown out so our half of the island does not power. Hopefully this will be posted soon and by Wednesday afternoon your time you will see this post. Please pray for body strength for the entire team, including myself, and for patience for each other. We are completely in one accord right now but we need the continuous prayer to be coming so that we remain of one mind.
