Brothers and Sisters, As you are aware, first responders across our great state have been under attack from our Governor, whose reign of terror has seen political scandals and corporate welfare skyrocket while the health of middle class worker pensions and the working middle class deteriorates. Always one to be full of himself, this governor outdid even his own ego, by producing and starring in a fake movie trailer on YouTube portraying himself as a crusader to defend the citizens of New Jersey against the retirements and benefits you have worked hard for. This vile scheme to portray first responders and their pensions as an evil entity is an extremely poor and unprofessional attempt to masquerade the fact that, as Governor, Chris Christie has failed and misled the first responders and middle class of New Jersey. His town hall meetings are nothing more than smoke and mirror speeches and are doing more harm than good. Governor Christie continues to spew his venom throughout New Jersey in his sordid attempt to divide the taxpayers of New Jersey. The Governor is not the savior he purports to be; he is quite the opposite. The law that he signed to stabilize the pension system, he violated. The Governor cannot and should not be allowed to disregard the constitutional requirement and the New Jersey Law requiring pension payments. Balancing the state’s budget by not making the required pension payment and spending the money elsewhere is both irresponsible and a failure of the Governor’s fiduciary responsibility. The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey views this latest attack on its members as yet another charade by Christie to distort the facts on New Jersey’s pensions just to keep attention off of his own questionable actions as governor.
