Brothers and Sisters, I just got home. I feel absolutely terrible - TopicsExpress

Brothers and Sisters, I just got home. I feel absolutely terrible and Im not even sick. I ran into an old friend who Ive known for better then thirty years. She was shopping at Walmart. I didnt see her husband. They were here at my house just a relatively few short weeks ago, maybe 4 months... |I hadnt seen them since. Being we were shopping and its the New Year Eves celebration, I wanted to attempt a quick but sincere catch up... Well, to make a long story short, I asked, Hey, where is.... (you know) I wish I didnt ask... She told me he passed away only about 8 weeks ago... I had no idea, but I know exactly how painful a loss like that can be, especially this time of the year, and being this was the first holiday ! Not enough time has passed for healing, or working through the grief process... I went and stirred everything up, unintentionally, but never the less... Thats why I feel so bad... Both of them love the Lord and so there is hope for reunion some day, but for now ? Its still fresh, and a very painful time... I dont think I handled it right, but apologized. I did tell her how sorry I was for her loss, and tried to encourage her about the future for those who have faith in our Lord and that great day promised... I know most of you are trying to have a good time bringing in the New Year, but would you mind pausing for a moment and say a short but heart felt prayer for my friend Beth ? I dont think I should mention their full names, because it might not be appropriate to do it over Facebook... All I can say is from past experience, this is a very difficult time... And, It is so, for many people all over the world... I am going to spend a quiet evening tonight at home. Im going to have a glass of wine, some crackers and cheese, with peperoni, maybe some celery with peanut butter, some tiny sausages with Spicy Mustard and Apple Jelly. Ill have some Shrimp cocktail... I will be watching the fire works from my living room window, since I have the absolute best view in the whole city... But I also had planned on being mindful toward all those who have had a difficult year... I think that is the case all over the world, for those who are hungry and caught in the crossfire from the peaceful religion via the sword... Not intending to get political at this point either... The roads in Rochester, NY. are getting very slick. For those who are traveling, and plan on drinking, (if you dont drink) please drive carefully... I want you to have a Happy, Healthy, Hopeful, Prosperous, and Safe New Year... I pray this will be a year of blessing for each of you, for America, and for around the world... We sure need a revival... The world needs Jesus Christ ! And, who can really argue that ?
