Brrrrrrrrrr its getting cooler. Remember our pets can get cold too. Heres a few tips to help your pet stay warm. * Play dress up with your pet. If your dog or cat has a short coat or seems bothered by the cold weather, consider a sweater or coat. * Keep your pet warm, dry and away from drafts. Tiles and uncarpeted areas may become extremely cold, so make sure to place blankets and pads on floors in these areas. If outdoors ensure a comfortable kennel or raised bedding is supplied. * Be attentive to your pets body temperature, age and any pre- existing health effects such as Arthritis, and limit its time outdoors during very cold weather. * Be very careful of supplemental heat sources. Portable heaters and fireplaces if in use can severely burn your pets. Make sure all fireplaces have screens, and keep portable heaters out of reach, and ensure your pets are always under supervision when in use.
