Brush fire on hillside on eastbound 91 freeway between Weir Canyon and Green River (past the former exit: Gypsum Canyon). The right two lanes of the freeway are close between those exit ramps, & traffic was backed up past Imperial Highway when I drove by there 20 minutes ago. Cars in the express lanes were moving pretty well past the fire zone. If youre planning to drive this direction today, be sure to allow plenty of extra time for your afternoon/evening commute! Fire crews are trying to douse flames with shovels of dirt as they climb steep hillside terrain. Water hoses cant reach that far from freeway. Also, approaching the 15/91 freeway interchange, the smoke is pretty heavy from another fire location...no mention of it on the news.
