Bryan Robson has told Manchester United to make sure Ryan Giggs stays on as part of the coaching staff, even if Louis van Gaal takes over next season. Van Gaal is expected to be appointed this week as United want a more experienced boss despite a growing feeling within the dressing room Giggs should be given the job full-time. There are rumours Van Gaal could be at Old Trafford for Tuesday’s game before joining up with his Holland squad for their first World Cup training camp. Former United skipper Robson reckons the 62-year-old must include Giggs next season, as well as Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt. It would be very disappointing for those lads not to be kept on, in whatever role, as they are part of Manchester United, the fans would be very disappointed if they don’t have a future in the club. ‘I have read Van Gaal wants to bring in a goalkeeper coach, a fitness coach, and [Patrick] Kluivert as his assistant. It is up to the board to step in and say, you can have leeway with this, but there are definitely restrictions on this part of the club. That has to come from the club rather than the new coach. Sometimes I think when you go into a new club, why not give the [existing] staff a chance? [Source: Metro] #H17
