Buddha was a rebel, but whom did he rebel against? I have come - TopicsExpress

Buddha was a rebel, but whom did he rebel against? I have come across some information. 1-buddha’s family was hindu. His father father was a hindu king. He had all the luxuries of the life in the palace but he gave up his royal lifestyle to achieve enlightenment in the wilderness and live a simple life. 2-hinduism preaches 100s of 1000s of deities in the sky. Buddha discarded all of them and preached that we can achieve enlightenment without the help of any man made deity in the sky. 3-in Hinduism people practice money worship, which is called “laxmi puja”, in the hope of getting more money. Buddha did just the opposite by leaving all the money behind. He showed by example that people can live a meaningful life without getting into the money race. 4-he was brought up as a hindu, but he stopped practicing hinduis and preached something totally different from Hinduism. Which means he did not find any truth or divinity in Hinduism. 5- Hinduism and all religions preach that our pains are the result of our sins. Buddha preached that our pains are the results of our desires. Here again he preached totally different than what he was taught. Buddha’s followers had almost wiped out hindhism from india, but in 185 B.C. pusyamitra sunga killed the Buddhist, king brihadrata, during a royal parade and took over the empire. He founded the sunga dynasty and then went on to wipe out the Buddhist civilization from india. Another king mihrikula, (AD 503-530) , who was the worshipper of shiva completed the job by committing the total genocide of buddhists and by totally destroying remaining Buddhist temples and buddhist civilization. My assessement is that Buddha rebelled against the religion of his ancestors. I am still working on it though. Zulfiqar tareen, a friend of all, enemy of none.
