Buen Camino all, Woke up in a village called Cacabelos... walked through the sunrise to the beautiful village of Villafranca del Beirzo, and now resting in Vega de Valcarce. It´s a small town nestled in the mountains.... a resting place before the last big climb of the Camino... O´Cebreiro! Once I am over that, it´s the downhill slide into Santiago! The last 100 miles! That´s not to say there won´t be bumps in the road (small hills, big rocks, blisters, fatigue, etc,) But there are also cherry trees that are heavy with fruit, cold rivers to soak your feet in, and a pilgrim family to spur you on! Seasoned pilgrims say that the Camino is much like childbirth. The pain is soon forgotten when you finally arrive in Santiago. Hopefully that will mean that I can toss my ace bandages, compression socks and mole skin... and go to the Pilgrim´s Mass... a little over a week from today!!!! Buenos Dias!
