Due to Alberta Government reclassification changes, three type 2 members are allowed to work with five type 1 members to form a crew. Type 1 and 2 are merging and are now called Firetack. Eight people are required to make one crew. Skill requirements: Must be able to complete 2 fitness tests – 2 mile walk with 25 lb. pack in less than 30 minutes and pump/hose drag/carry in less than 6 minutes. First Aid Certificate Standard Training: ICS 100, TDG Ground, WHMIS and applicable ESRD courses. Qualifications to make up 8 man crew: Crew leader must have TDG Air and a valid radio operator’s licence. Sub-leader and two additional members must have a valid radio operator’s licence. Two members to have chainsaw training (one with a minimum Faller level and one with a minimum Bucker level) Valid driver’s licence needed for at least 4 people out of 8 on the crew. Please provide driver’s abstract or sign documentation to allow the contractor to obtain the driver’s abstract.
