Muhammadu Buhari’s 1961 West African School Certificate (WASC) results yesterday. Sources quoted in a The Nation report say Bello was summoned by the Katsina State Ministry of Education, following the release of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidates results. “Some forces were unhappy with the issuance of results to Gen. Buhari and they have been threatening the principal. They have been calling him names, abusing him. Some were actually threatening to deal with him, the unnamed source said. “They told the principal that he ought to have left Buhari to his fate instead of releasing his results. “Faced with pressure, the principal has reached out to friends and relatives on the threats. He explained that he did so to protect the integrity of the college and not anybody’s. The source added that they are afraid for Bellos life following the threats. It will be recalled that Bello released the results following controversy on whether or not Buhari attended the Government College and sit for the the 1961 University of Cambridge West African School Certificate Examinations (WASCE). According to the released results, Buhari obtained the following scores: English – 5 (credit), Hausa-5 (credit), History -3 (Good), Geography – 6 (Credit), Health Science – 6 (credit), English Lit – 7 (pass), Maths – 9 (Fail) and Woodwork – 9 (fail). Speculations have since emerged over the authenticity of the result.
