Bujumbura is the capital of Burundi. Burundi gained her independence from Belgium on 7/1/1962. The national flag was officially adopted on 6/28/1967. The Burundian flag is grafted with a white X sized Cross that separates the flag into four segments. The 3 stars represents the 3 ethnic groups that make up the country.
