Bully Fire Update as of 9:00 AM: The Bully Fire is 21 miles southwest of Redding near the Trinity National Forest boundary. It is on the Shasta Trinity Unit and currently assigned to Cal Fire IMT 1 (Estes). It is close to the Igo and Ono communities and burning in brush and grass. At least 50 structures are threatened by this fire. Currently the fire is estimated at 2800 acres and only 10% containment as of 6:45 this morning. It continues to burn to the north and west which remained active overnight as well. The concern is that it will enter the forested lands and continue to spread. The fire continues to grow as of the last update with numerous resources being ordered. The column was very visible from the city of Redding yesterday during the peak burning window. Most of the smoke has remained out of our region, but that could change depending on transport winds. Current resources include: 394 personnel, 35 engines, 12 crews, five helicopters, six dozers, and 11 water tenders and numerous air attack retardant aircraft. This was per the NIFC report released this morning. There are most likely significantly more crews on site or being directed to this fire as of this moment.
