Burj Khalifa Buyers Double in 2014 dubaipropertysociety/burj-khalifa-buyers-double-2014/ Buyers using loans to purchase residential property in the world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa, has doubled during the first nine months of 2014, according to the latest statistics released by ReadIn. The total number of transactions during the period was 61, (AED 338 million), against just 32 transactions in 2013 (AED 174 million). Cash transactions in the super skyscraper has also risen (up 18%), totaling AED 513 million in the first nine months. In the same period last year just 61 transactions were completed, with a value of AED 463 million. “We are witnessing an increase in demand from people of senior management level… these people are taking loans and using their housing allowances to pay their equated monthly installments. They are living in it as a status symbol, rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous,” one real estate agent said. The most expensive unit to be sold in the Burj Khalifa in the first nine months of 2014 was for AED 28 million, making it the most expensive apartment sold anywhere in Dubai during that period.
