Burkina Fasos President had to resign amidst violent protest which saw the Parliament being set ablaze. Many in the country see the memory of the slained leader Thomas Sankara as the source of inspiration. Al Jazeera English s report (america.aljazeera/articles/2014/10/31/burkina-faso-explainer.html#) says: Sankara wanted a thriving Burkina Faso, relying on local human and natural resources as opposed to foreign aid, said retired professor of economics, Noel Nébié. And starting with agriculture, which represents more than 32 per cent of the countrys GDP and employs 80 percent of the working population, he smashed the economic elite who controlled most of the arable land and granted access to subsistence farmers. That improved production making the country almost self-sufficient. The IMF-WB dictated policies under the compaore regime.have brought unprecedented unemployment, amidst 7% growth rate of GDP. It is not surprising hence that people are carrying forward the legacy of their leader. Here is a link of a brilliant speech of Sankara against debts. https://youtube/watch?v=gx2PoOY3ADo
