Business Developer Internship Company: Southfield Chamber of Commerce About the Southfield Chamber: The purpose of the Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce is to be a catalyst, creating connections that strengthen and drive Michigan business. The Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) was incorporated in 1953 as a private, nonprofit, membership-supported organization. By consolidating resources from several hundred Southfield area businesses large and small, the Chamber becomes an efficient and cost-effective resource for serving business members. We were incorporated in 1953. The Southfield Area Chamber plays an active role in a variety of development projects and initiatives, including Southfields Downtown Development Authority, The City Center, the citys Business Development Team, American Chamber of Commerce Executives, Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals, Automation Alley, 8 Mile Boulevard Association and the Oakland Chamber Network, a coalition of Oakland County chambers representing almost 40,000 Businesses. Additionally, the Chamber supports the community by participating in charity events, fundraisers, job fairs, and the school/business partnership. The Southfield Area Chamber sponsors a variety of events for its members throughout the year. 12 times a year it hosts business card exchanges, as well as partnering with other Oakland County chambers. The Chamber also sponsors frequent luncheons and seminars on topics ranging from financing to managing human resources. The Chambers signature events are; State of the City, Golf Outing, Taste of Southfield and Annual Awards an Recognition Ceremonies. What You Will Do: If you are interested in learning about Business Development, Marketing, and Communication this is the internship for you. You will put your knowledge in business development, marketing and communications, and social media to use. You will help with planning events, recruiting and retaining businesses for the chamber, and working with board members. What You Will Learn: You will learn business development, marketing, how to plan for events, fundraising, and about Request for Proposals. You will have the opportunity to meet professionals from various career fields.
