Leaked Emails Reveal How Slimy John Boehner Really Is", Posted by Progressive Populist | on October 3, 2013 You may have heard that John Boehner called for a House vote earlier this week to vote for a bill that would ban an exemption that lawmakers and staffers receive for their health insurance. “Why don’t we make sure that every American is treated just like we are?” Boehner asked. The bill would ban members of Congress from receiving thousands in subsidies that they were to receive by joining Obamacare. Well, as it turned out, Boehner was working behind the scenes to preserve those very subsidies for himself and other congress members, making him a lying, hypocritical scoundrel, as revealed in emails from Boehner’s office. Politico obtained the emails and broke the story. Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s chief of staff, David Krone, is the person who revealed the e-mails from Boehner’s office. From Politico: Yet behind-the-scenes, Boehner and his aides worked for months with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), and others, to save these very same, long-standing subsidies, according to documents and e-mails provided to POLITICO. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was also aware of these discussions, the documents show …. Boehner and Reid, in fact, went so far as to ask to meet with President Barack Obama to lobby him personally for help — using a cover story in order to protect the secrecy of the discussions, according to these documents. Boehner also candidly admitted in another email that he would often stick amendments in bills that would be overlooked and passed. “When I was in the state legislature, we used to stick things in [bills] and no one would notice,” Boehner said during a private meeting with Reid in July to discuss this issue. We have long known that politicians are far from being honest. But it is rare when we actually catch them doing something this blatantly dishonest. Boehner is now in a tight spot, with both sides irate at him for different reasons.
