Busy afternoon. Went to funeral at Pilgrim Church--Sam Watkins, husband of Ann Sons Hartley Watkins--beautiful service with several songs that I grew up singing in church in Horry County a few years ago. While there, learned that her sister, Ruth Sons Koon, had fallen last night. She is ok but lots of bruises. Ruths daughter-in-law was in wreck this afternoon--she is ok. Too many things going on for an extended family to have to deal with in such a short period of time. A good thing did happen for me at the cemetery--saw a former student that I probably have not seen since she was in my class at LHS quite a few years ago. Then went to fundraiser for our friend from USC, Randy Halfacre. If you are undecided about who to vote for in the mayoral race in Lexington please consider voting for Randy on Nov. 5. Hope to see some of you at the polls on election day--not sure which one I will be at yet.
