“But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it - TopicsExpress

“But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands...” -(Exodus 17: 12). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. In our Focal Scripture, Aaron and Hur helped Moses when his hands were weary. They both helped Moses in his time of need. They came to Moses’ rescue when he needed people to raise his hands. Aaron and Hur were destiny helpers in Moses life. After they helped Moses, Aaron worked closely with Moses until he died, but Hur didn’t play any other visible role in Moses’ life. He helped Moses in his time of need, and moved on when his assignment was done. The fact that he helped Moses didnt make him Moses close associate. Friend, hear God’s counsel: not everyone who helps you should remain attached to you. Not every destiny helper should become a destiny associate; not every one who assists you should become your friend; not everyone who helps you in a time of need has a long term role to play in your life. Just like Hur helped Moses and moved on, there are people who should move on after helping you, and you may harm yourself when you remain attached to them. Holding on to people you should let go of, is a highway to stagnation. If you don’t let them go, they may not fulfill their destinies, and they won’t let you fulfill yours. If the help you receive from men is the only basis for their friendship with you, be careful, you may soon receive help from destiny destroyers who shouldnt be your friends. Ask God to help you discern between helpers who should stay connected to you and those you should allow to move on. Proverbs 12 vs. 26 (NIV) captures it aptly: “The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” Pray With Me: Lord, give me wisdom to discern when to embrace and when to refrain in Jesus’ name! Have A Blessed Monday And A Hugely Rewarding Month.
