But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? (Acts 3:12) Faith is not anything to be resting in. Faith is always an action word - a verb. There will never be a time that our faith is not tested. Peter and John had healed a man in front of many people. He was well known as someone who would beg for money there. So when he asked for money, they boldly told him that they had something better - and then they healed him. The point is that in our lives we have little opportunities all day, every day to boldly live in faith. Like Peter pointed out, it is not our power. It is the power of Jesus working through us. We just need to supply the faith. Right now, each of us has something that is testing our faith. But what we must understand: this is normal. God is going to stretch our faith and then He is going to stretch it some more. Dont think something is wrong when you have to use your faith - think something is right! God is at work. He is making us strong and unbending. That is a very good thing! Just like our brothers, Peter and John. Look for opportunities to use your faith.
