But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Heb 11:6. I want us to apply this scripture in tithing. Have you thought about the fact that if you dont give it in faith, no matter how much it is, God will never be pleased? Question then is, how do I give my tithe in faith? Rom 10:17 tells us, faith comes by hearing the word of God. The word of God referred to here is Rhema, that is the spoken word; not Logos, the written or revealed word. There is a big difference. If you read the book of Malachi and you give your tithe, that is not faith, that is giving your tithe in hope. The whole revealed word gives us hope, it tells us what God can do when we do certain things, but what makes God do it particularly for us is when we act in faith. That is acting in direct response to a thus says the Lord. What Ive been teaching since is how to respond to God in tithing. If God doesnt speak, you cannot have faith because the spoken word of God to you is the substance of the blessing hoped for. That word is the evidence of what you havent seen. Each time my wife and I tithe, we just know God has received it, because we dont give it until He speaks to us. Now because we have conditioned ourselves to always hear God, because we believe He speaks and He rewards those who diligently wait for Him to speak, He rewards us each time with speaking. If you want to hear the Lord all the time, youve got to condition yourself for it. Try it! Tell Him, as His child, youve got a right to hear Him. Then each time you receive money remove the tithe, go on your knees, pray and ask Him to speak to you where He wants it to go. If you dont hear yet, keep it in an envelope or bank, one day, you may receive an impulse, do it! As long as its in the confines of Gods word, that quick response in you is what the Lord will now begin to fine tune till you become perfect in it. God bless you.
