Buttermilk at about 6 months pregnant. Shes now dried off and no longer being milked or nursing. A cow needs 60-90 days for her udder to recover, for her to store minerals and vitamins, and to rebuild her fat layer before calving again. Were giving her extra time because she was milked for 20 straight months. She went unbred in 2013 due to us not having a bull or Artificial Insemination Tech. See her flabby udder? This is because shes a cow (mother) not a heifer (young female, underage for breeding, or first pregnancy). See her lopsided belly? It will fill in and become round as her due date gets closer. Shes not ridiculously thin, as a dairy cows first two ribs should be visible to be at a healthy weight. Remember, these are dairy cows, not beef cows!
