By Christie Southern GCCA considers one bill The House side of the General Conference Committee on Appropriations met briefly Monday to hear a presentation of the conference committee report for HB1875. Members were presented with hard copies of the bill to review due to technical difficulties. The bill, by Rep. Charles McCall, R-Atoka and Sen. Clark Jolley, R-Edmond, amends language relating to revenue, taxation and the apportionment of sales tax revenue. . McCall said the bill aims to lower the percentage rate charged to municipalities from 1 percent to a one-half one percent. The fiscal impact would be approximately $1 million. The hole created by the bill’s impact would be filled by using funds from the joint computer enhancement fund in the Office of Management and Enterprise Services and would go to the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Asked where those dollars saved go, should the bill make it out of conference, McCall said the dollars would remain in each municipality’s general revenue.
