By Gods grace Joan has had two wonderful days in a row. She has been feeling better than she has in a long time. This despite dire warnings by her doctors that her condition would deteriorate rapidly once she stopped dialysis. God is good & He is granting her more time. We were able to enjoy Noahs 1st birthday party together & see lots of family & friends. Her kidney function is currently 15-20% as per her latest blood test. Not great but not life threatening at this juncture. However, we know that things could change drastically very quickly. We have met with a hospice nurse this evening & have a plan in place for Joans care. The added bonus is that the nurse is a believer & that is a true blessing. The current plan is to keep her here at home as long as possible. When her health deteriorates to the point where she requires 24 hr care she will go to the hospice facility across from Brick hospital. Please pray that her current level of kidney function will continue & delay this as long as possible.
