By-Ibn Abdillah As-sudaisiy STUDY THE SOURCE OF THE SHARIAH AND NOT MUSLIMS OR MUSLIM COUNTRIES It is not everything done in Saudi Arabia that is Islamic. Let us get this right and avoid unnecessary criticism of the Kingdom. When Allah said in Suratur Ruum; ظهر الفساد فى البر والبحر, it affects every parts of the world. Saudi Arabia too is not exempted. The degree to which the verse affect each parts of the world may be different. But it is clear that the verse deals with whole collective world. This and many more reasons are why we always say to religious bigots, Look at Islam (Kitab wa Sunnah) and not the Muslims to determine what Islam is. If you keep using present day Muslims to measure what Islam is, if you are surrounded by the unserious Muslims who do not understand what it actually takes to be a Muslim in the context of the shariah, your research outcome would definitely be faulty. So, dont study Islam by the activities of Muslim dominated countries, go to the sources of the shariah and its reliable scholars. For instance; how would you think the Islamic orientation of a Muslim who visit Osun Osogbo to seek help with that of a Muslim who does not visit Osun Osogbo. If the one who visits Osun Osogbo is the one you meet for your research on Islam just because he bears Muslim name and he claim to be Muslim; you should know you have failed already. Similarly, if it is a Book Haramist, tableeghiy or Sufist that you meet first; you can never get the true picture of Islam from them. That is why you must go to the source and study it properly to even know who and who to consult. The attitude of most Muslims today is not a true reflection of what Islam is. By the apt observations of the scholars of the sunnah, the percentage of those who practice true Islam today is very low. We have lost focus and attention. Our present state is a true reflection of the popular hadith of the Prophet, sollaLohu alaihi wasallam on the 73 sects; the hadith on the ghurobaa and so on. Things like music, indecency, sports, movies, money and other material things of this world have diverted our attentions. We leave the true Islamic culture for our defective local customs, western orientations and self desires. These and many more are the cause of the present disunity among us and the humiliation we are facing from the Kuffar. So, we need to retrace our steps. But the truth is that even at that; there is no any nations of the world that applies the shariah better than Saudi Arabia. If not for Saudi Arabia and its scholars; the real Sunnah would have been very difficult to come by
