By Jim Beam / American Press The House gave final legislative approval Friday to a bill that gives a Grosse Tete truckstop owner the right to keep a 14-year-old Siberian-Bengal tiger at his place of business. Senate Bill 250, by Sen. Rick Ward, R-Port Allen, exempts Michael Sandlin, the truckstop owner, from a 2006 state law that bans ownership of exotic animals, except those that have obtained permits. The legislation goes to Gov. Bobby Jindal.
