Dale Earnhardt Jr. is giving a late model racer his big break this weekend at Iowa Speedway. His reasoning for putting 23 year-old short track racer Josh Berry in one of his Nationwide cars is not sponsor related, as most decisions like this usually are today. No, he just thinks Josh has the talent to do the job and decided to give him a shot. Now thats the old school way of doing things and a tactic rarely employed in the sport now. Tennessee native Berry has driven for Dale Jr. in regional races around the US for the last few years, but has never made a start in any NASCAR series higher than K&N. The two orginally met online, both being avid iRacing competitors. After talking for a bit, Jr. ended up offering him a seat in his late model car. Berry is a proven short track racer, with his resume including the 2012 Motor Mile Speedway track championship. Hes been fast so far, qualifying tenth and may just prove Earnhardt right. Jr. did discover that Brad Keselowski guy, aka the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion...
