As a result of Governor Scott’s recent executive order, the Florida Department of Education has announced they will be holding three public meetings on the state’s mathematics and English language arts (ELA) standards. For those unable to attend any of the three meetings, feedback will also be accepted via email ([email protected]) and through a designated website (flstandards.org). All comments must be submitted by October 31, 2013, to be considered for review. But, please try to make it in person, rather than write in your complaint. We need to have as many “bodies” as possible showing that we do not want the Common Core State Standards. If you come out, please bring a sign that reads “No Common Core” or “No Fed Ed”.
