By Today everyone in the village should have received a copy of onemedina letter that was sent in the mail. I would like to break down the letter and rebut what has been stated. But why dissolve village government? I think we all are asking the same question. The village is currently working with the towns on long standing shared services that helps save tax dollars. There can be more we can do if the effort is made between the village and towns. We all need to work harder to bring up our tax base and increase revenues, hold cost down and keep up our neighborhoods to bring in new residents. The letter states “as we traveled door to door, we heard that the people want less government and lower taxes” There were just over 400 signatures on the petition with just over 6,000 residents in the village, just how many doors did they go to? Over the next few days I will continue to address this letter (just so the post will not be to long).
