By authority vested upon me by the local government code, I, Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog, Chairman of the Local School Board of the Division of Iloilo City together with Dr. Nelly Valerio, Schools Division Superintendent declare that all classes under the Division of Iloilo City are suspended tomorrow, January 27, 2014. Mayor does not have authority to declare local holiday under the Local Government Code. But as Chairman of the Local School Board, the Mayor can suspend classes under the Division. Classes for college are NOT SUSPENDED. It is only CHED that can suspend classes for COLLEGE.
