"Misbah, One Dimensional Player" "Despite his batting stats, better average than most of the other batsmen in the team, one of the toughest player in the mental field, he is very limited in the batting. He has very limited range of shots, poor foot work and poor batting technique. He only knows two ways, either he will block the ball or he would try to connect for distance in the long off or long on corridor. He is smart to try to hit the ball at the end, because even if he loses his wicket, he has already scored enough runs, where nobody can point the fingers and secondly, half of the time, he is able to connect the ball for distance. One of the reason for losing the wicket on those shots at the end, he does not play the ball on merit and most of the shots are premeditated. Due to his limitation of shots, he cannot rotate the strike or play the ball on merit. Even against the spinners, which most Pakistani players are good, he would either block the ball or play his famous reverse sweep. He is good in the test cricket, where no pressure of run rate and you can take your sweet time to score runs, but in one-day cricket, where rotatingthe ball and scoring runs with decent strike rate is very important, his sedation and his stagnant batting style has affecting the whole batting line up and added so much pressure on the batsmen, which end up costing their wickets. He is lucky to be playing with a batting line up which is very mediocre ( in fact below mediocre). The below average batting line up has been providing cushion for his deficiency, because most of the time when he come to bat, we are 3-4 wickets down and there are hardly 50runs on the board, which gives him the excuse to block every single ball for next 15-20 overs by adding 15-20 runs. I know he is not the sole reason for our mediocrity, but as a captain and suppose to be the main batsman in the team, I would expect a complete and proper batsman, in my book, Misbah is not a complete batsman shahkar
