By virtue of an accident I had absolutely nothing to do with, I - TopicsExpress

By virtue of an accident I had absolutely nothing to do with, I happen to be a Canadian citizen. Because of a similar fluke, I’m also a British citizen. My wife and all my kids, through absolutely no doing of their own, are considered American citizens. To me, all of that is just outdated silliness. I mention this because this week a Canadian soldier was murdered in cold blood. As is predictable in this new era, this triggered a fresh tide of “hero” headlines and nationalistic fervor that would make Ivan Pavlov salivate. You see, when a truck driver delivering your heart medication dies on the job he’s just a poor working slob doing a dumb job, but when a guy in a uniform who is helping Your State dominate the people in Another State dies on the job he’s a ‘hero’ and you better show proper respect lest your neighbors think less of you. Canada, Britain and the USA - thanks to a US over-reaction to 15 Saudi citizen’s hijacking of three airplanes - have all been engaged in killing hundreds of thousands of people in several countries for over a decade. Some of those people have an equally deadly intentions toward the West, some of them are completely innocent civilian victims. Those innocent victims are out financed, out mechanized and out propagandized by the West. The latest round of this conflict involves one group that wants to establish a new State in Iraq to replace the slightly older State established after the bombing and hanging of Saddam Hussein. So will it be a New State or the Existing State in Iraq? Well, whoever kills the most people wins. It’s a game of their ‘terrorists’ vs our ‘heroes.’ Who can kill more people? Who is willing to keep killing longer? Those ‘terrorists’ or our beloved ‘heroes?’ So this week we’re told a ‘terrorist’ who was sympathetic to the ISIS killing program killed a ‘hero’ who was part of the Canadian killing program. Depending upon where your mother went into labor, you are expected to support one of those sides. So your side can ultimately kill more than the other side and Iraq can have the new State your team supports. An objective observer might call all of this insanity. Or sociopathic. Or a Pavlovian response to relentless, systematic conditioning. (You know, those savage Muslims are so brainwashed! Unlike us.) For my part, I refuse to offer support, aid and comfort to anyone using death, destruction and domination to achieve their goals., irrespective of where my mother went into labor. There are other ways to address serious issues. Not all of them are as financially profitable in the short term as killing people is, - just look at the defense sector stock gains - but over the long term they are massively more beneficial and profitable to all sides. They are also massively more moral than dividing the world into two arbitrary and subjective groups of ‘terrorists’ and ‘heroes’ then killing as many people as it takes to dominate the other side. petesisco/where-did-your-mother-go-into-labor/
