C-L-O-S-E-(Proverbs 5:1 NET) Definition and usage of the word CLOSE, in this context; draw near, come near, come together, up CLOSE and personally, intimately involved. My child, be attentive to my wisdom, pay CLOSE attention to my understanding, (Proverbs 5:1 NET) C-L-O-S-E-Concentrate, Lean, Observe, Stare, Embrace! UNDERSTANDING-Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures, (Luke 24:45 NET) Then he opened their understanding to understand the scriptures, (Luke 24:45 DARBY) Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. (Proverbs 2:3 NLT) Understand what I am saying. For the Lord will give you understanding in all things. (2 Timothy 2:7 CPDV) IT IS THE LORD HIMSELF, WHO WILL OPEN OUR UNDERSTANDING AND ENABLE US TO HAVE THE NECESSARY INSIGHT TO GAIN UNDERSTANDING, INTO ALL THINGS, IN THIS LIFE; BUT, WE MUST DO OUR PART! C-L-O-S-E CONCENTRATE-to intensely direct your complete focus, single minded, on a single thing, meditating on gaining understanding, from The Lord. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. (Proverbs 2:2 NLT) Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice. Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they’re bursting with health. (Proverbs 4:20-22 MSG) LEAN-to bend towards, get closer; if we are not leaning towards The Lord, we end up leaning away and the further away you get the closer you come to leanness of your soul. So he gave to them their request, but he sent leanness into their souls. (Psalms 106:15 LEB). We need to LEAN into and towards Him! Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5 NIV) I have leaned on you since the day I was born; you have been my God since my mother gave me birth. (Psalms 22:10 NCV) Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but he who trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on the Lord shall be compassed about with mercy and with loving-kindness. (Psalm 32:10 AMP) OBSERVE-to see, watch, regard with great attention, in order to learn, then choose to obey and comply with all that has been observed. I have observed all his laws; I have not disobeyed his commands. (Psalms 18:22 GNB) I am prompt, I do not hesitate in observing your commandments. (Psalms 119:60 NABRE) I understand more than the aged, Because I have observed Your precepts. (Psalms 119:100 NASB) STARE-to look intently, by fixing your gaze, with eyes wide open, both physically, mentally and spiritually. Therefore, since we have such a hope, we behave with great boldness, and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from staring at the result of the glory that was made ineffective. But their minds were closed. For to this very day, the same veil remains when they hear the old covenant read. It has not been removed because only in Christ is it taken away. But until this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds, but when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:12-18 NET) Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever LOOKS INTENTLY (STARE) into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. (James 1:23-25 NIV) EMBRACE-to take hold of, hug tight and CLOSE, then no matter what happens, refuse to let go of, for any reason or circumstance! Love wisdom, and she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will bring you honor. (Proverbs 4:8 GNT) Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly. (Proverbs 3:18 NLT) So may you be able to embrace, with all the saints, what is the width and length and height and depth (Ephesians 3:18 CPDV) We need and should pay CLOSE attention to His understanding by, Concentrating on Him, Leaning towards Him, Observing all He has for us to know, Starring intently, with our eyes fixed and wide open, upon Him, and Embracing, taking a hold of Him and not ever letting go of Him, The Lord of Heaven and Earth, Jesus! Blessings...
